Start the new month in a role that truly makes a difference. We’re recruiting for a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Fakenham, set across five acres of outdoor space.
The school supports pupils aged 5–16 with Communication and Interaction needs, many with autism traits. All pupils hold EHCPs and are supported to work towards mainstream academic milestones, including SATs and GCSEs.
About the Role
You’ll provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to develop socially, emotionally, and academically in a calm, structured environment.
Who We’re Looking For
Experience supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups, ideally within an SEMH or specialist setting
A genuine passion for supporting social, emotional and mental health needs
A calm, resilient, flexible approach and plenty of patience
Full-time availability and commitment
⭐ Desirable (but not essential):
Training in Safeguarding, Makaton, PECS, or Team Teach
Previous SEMH school experience
What You’ll Need
Full UK Driving Licence – essential
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (ideal to fast-track the application) or willingness to apply
Up-to-date CV with relevant hands-on experience
Overseas check if you’ve lived abroad for 6+ months in the last 5 years
