About the role:
You will drive a Volvo lorry, all less than 4 years old, equipped with high specifications for comfort, including fridges and leather seats.
Our sites operate Monday to Friday, with 45-hour weeks and 9-hour shifts starting around 7/8 am. Our shift schedules are well-organized, often allowing you to know your driving destinations in advance.
This role provides job security within a growing, global business. Additional hours are available with enhanced pay rates for bank holidays and night shifts. You will join a friendly team that supports each other, sharing traffic updates via WhatsApp.
Key Responsibilities:
We trust our drivers to plan their routes without micromanagement. Typical shifts involve 4 to 6 stops, with time to enjoy the open road and home at the end of each shift.
You will ensure timely delivery and collection of cages, pallets, freight, stillages, and yorks. Loading/unloading may be your responsibility at some sites, along with scanning consignments and driving pallet trucks.
Daily vehicle and trailer inspections are required, with defect reports completed if necessary. You will ensure accuracy ('right first time') for internal and external customers and communicate effectively to resolve queries with the Site Manager.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Class 1 Driving licence
* Driver CPC qualification card
* Completed or working towards DCPC training hours
* Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws and safety commitment
* A proactive 'can do' attitude
