Job Purpose

The Recruitment Officer will be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle to attract, source, and select high-quality talent across the organisation. This role will workwith hiring managers to ensure an efficient and inclusive recruitment process, while promoting SMS Environmental as an employer of choice. They will also be responsible for overseeing the entire onboarding administration process, ensuring a smooth transition from candidate to fully inducted employee.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Recruitment & Selection

* Manage end-to-end recruitment for a range of roles, from advertising through to on boarding.
* Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, draft job descriptions, and agree recruitment strategies.
* Advertise vacancies through job boards and careers sites.
* Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, CV databases, networking, and talent pipelines.
* Screen CVs and applications, conduct initial telephone interviews, and shortlist candidates.
* Coordinate and schedule interviews and assessments with hiring managers.
* Support managers in designing fair, inclusive, and effective selection processes

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

* Ensure a positive candidate journey, maintaining timely and professional communication at all stages.
* Promote SMS Environmentals culture, values, and employee value proposition in all recruitment activities.
* Support initiatives to strengthen the employer brand, including careers page content and recruitment campaigns.
* Manage the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) process, ensuring clear, engaging, and consistent communication across all candidate and employee touchpoints

Onboarding &; Induction Administration

* Manage the full onboarding process from offer stage through to the end of induction.
* Draft and issue contracts, offer letters, and pre-employment checks.
* Coordinate induction sessions, liaising with managers and other departments to ensure new hires have the tools, resources, and information they need.
* Act as the key contact for new hires during their first months to ensure a smooth transition into the organisation.
