About us: This role reports into the Head of Apprenticeships & dotted line into the Production Manager/Supervisors and requires a minimum level of supervision. This Apprentice Technician Trainer role is required to manage and develop a comprehensive and innovative teaching & learning experience in a variety of practical/ theoretical skills within the current apprenticeship standards. Plan apprentice path from year 1 though to year 4 creating training structure covering all aspects of machining requirements, departmental rotations & developing skill matrixes for all requirements. Ensuring high standards of housekeeping by keeping work area clean/tidy and free from hazards plus work quality & work attitude Review their progress and ensure their college requirements link into business needs. Ensuring all development is assessed though regular assessments & appraisals, document actions by completing training logs. Carry out workplace assessments, reviews and set action plans for apprentices. Coach, monitor and mentor learners in their chosen apprenticeship pathway and provide instruction, guidance and support in order to keep them on track and to achieve a successful timely outcome. Share your knowledge and expertise in an engaging manner. Assist the apprentice manager in the building of a Company Training Plan to compliment the apprenticeship programme we currently have and to improve where required. Provide support for Functional Skills when required. Manage and support the learner whilst they are in college. Requirements Knowledge, Skills & Experience: essential Time served and experienced engineer for the desired role. Effective relationship skills with internal staff/external suppliers Excellent knowledge of new and legacy equipment Interpret engineering drawings/models Excellent communication skills Minimum Professional, Academic or Other Qualifications: essential: Time Served - Engineering (Manufacturing) Willing to undertake a workplace competence qualification within 12 months.
