How you'll make a differenceWorking within a small cluster team, you will be the main point of contact for parents and carers of children and young adults in relation to their Education Health and Care (EHC) Plan or EHC needs assessment, making sure they are aware of any progress and developments. The Education, Learning and Skills department provide high quality, coordinated child, young person and family-centred services which respond to needs and adopt a preventative and early help approach. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the team. What you will be doingIt will be your responsibility to produce high quality case management reports relating to EHCP needs assessments. This will involve working with all relevant parties including young people and their parents to plan and co-ordinate appropriate school placements.Working alongside colleagues in further education settings and relevant professionals, you will develop strong relationships and provide them with a key point of contact. This will include the identification of SEND, statutory compliance, school information and outcomes.You may be asked to chair multi-agency meetings attended by senior education colleagues, SENCOs, educational psychologists and other health professionals.You will organise effective work plans to meet productivity targets of the team and ensure that quality assurance processes are followed.It will be key for you to have expert knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to children and young people with special educational needs and their families. What we need from youWe require you to hold a relevant qualification such as an NVQ Level 3 or have relevant experience in health or social care or equivalent.It is essential that you have previous experience of working with a broad range of people including families, education, social care and health care professionals.Ideally, you will have experience of the local government authorities safeguarding policies and procedures. What you need to knowSalary will be pro rated to hours worked.Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.You will be required to travel widely within the authority so you must either have a current valid driving licence and provide a car or have access to appropriate means of travel. Interviews will take place on 30th April 2026.
