This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Complementary Therapist to work within the Cancer Services at Lister Hospital to improve patient’s physical, psychological and emotional well-being through this specialist service.
We are looking for a compassionate, organised and professional Complementary Therapist to join our very special team of the Lister Cancer Centre. This is a unique role for the right person to use their skills and commitment to deliver holistic, individually tailored care to patients, either in the treatment chairs or our purpose build Cura Garden Room.

Main duties of the job
You will empower patients to gain increased feelings of self-worth, maximise their potential and take control of the life they have in a way that is meaningful to them.
This role has been established for 2 years & we are looking to develop this service offering unique complementary therapies.
You may work either from the Cura Garden Room base or within our Treatment area offering face to face contact with patients whilst they receive their medical treatment. The role will involve using pre complementary therapy assessments to ensure safe, appropriate complementary therapy is provided to all patients

Person specification
Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
* Diploma or qualification awarded by a private college or training institute in complementary therapy e.g. Using Reiki Level 2 (or equivalent
* Registered with Federation of Holistic Therapies or similar UK governing body.
* Evidence of ongoing training & update to original qualifications
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience in providing Complementary therapy in either a healthcare or commercial setting
Desirable criteria
* Sam Buxton Sunflower Healing Trust – Healing in Hospitals 2 day course
* Working with Supportive/Palliative care or people with chronic illness
* Experience of coordinating service/projects
Skills
Essential criteria
* Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Flexible attitude & Ability to work on own and within team environment
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Able to keep patient records up to date and neat
* Must have good listening skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Impact of long term illness of the individual
