We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to lead the introduction of new production programmes from bid development to series production.
In this role, you will drive and coordinate the planning and delivery of the Operations teams, including Build, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Material Management, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities:
* Accountable for the introduction of new manufacturing programmes from bid development to series production, ensuring they deliver margin, quality, and schedule targets.
* Define and implement production programme timing, including milestones, gateways, and build schedule.
* Drive manufacturing deliverables by managing and leading cross-functional teams.
* Coordinate production quality planning and quality control to meet all project requirements, including APQP and PPAP processes.
* Work with Programmes and Delivery teams to define production requirements for new products, including tooling, labour, and facility layout.
* Plan resources for pre-production builds and production launch.
* Lead design and manufacturing reviews, driving design teams to achieve DFM and financial targets.
Who are we looking for?
* An engineering degree or relevant qualification.
* Proven experience managing manufacturing teams from concept to production, with knowledge of APQP and PPAP.
* Technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
* Experience specifying new plant equipment and tooling for low-volume manufacturing.
* Experience implementing manufacturing processes and solving quality issues.
* Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and data analysis.
