Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented cabinet maker to join our team, specialising in the production of high-end bespoke fitted furniture. The successful candidate will be responsible for reading technical drawings, cutting and assembling cabinetry components, and producing precision-built units to exacting standards.
You will be working with a variety of materials including MDF, veneers, hardwoods, and laminates, with a focus on quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and pride in your work.
While we ideally require a candidate with a minimum of 5 years' experience in cabinet making or joinery, consideration will also be given to semi-skilled labourers with workshop experience who demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a good understanding of basic tools and processes.
Responsibilities
* Manufacture custom-built furniture and cabinetry from technical drawings
* Use workshop machinery (panel saws, routers, edge banders, etc.) and hand tools safely and effectively
* Work with various materials including hardwoods, MDF, plywood, veneers, and laminates
* Assemble units and components with a high level of precision
* Ensure all pieces are finished to the highest quality before moving to spray or installation
* Liaise with designers, project managers, and other team members to ensure jobs meet specifications
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace
* Follow health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
* Ideally 5 years' experience as a cabinet maker or joiner in a furniture or joinery workshop
* Consideration will be given to semi-skilled labourers with relevant workshop or joinery experience
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Skilled in using woodworking machines and hand tools
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
* Understanding of construction methods for fitted furniture and cabinetry
* Physically fit and capable of manual handling
* Relevant joinery or cabinet making qualification (preferred but not essential)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
