Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to work weekends and evenings to deliver open days and recruitment events when they take place, and will be claimable as Time Off in Lieu.

Reporting to: Student Recruitment Manager

Location: Hybrid. The postholder will be within a commutable distance to dBs Institute Plymouth and is expected to spend a minimum of three days per week on campus if they are not travelling. They will be required to travel across the UK and to other campuses to meet the needs of the role.

Salary: £26,000 - £29,000

dBs Institute is seeking a Student Recruitment Officer to lead and support student recruitment activities across Plymouth and the wider South West region. Reporting to the Student Recruitment Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering engaging events, building school and college partnerships, and guiding applicants through an exceptional journey—from their first enquiry to enrolment.

This is a hands-on role that’s perfect for someone who enjoys variety, creativity, and collaboration. You’ll work closely with the Plymouth Head of Campus and our wider Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions team to bring the dBs experience to life for prospective students.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver a year-round schedule of recruitment events across Plymouth and the South West.
* Represent dBs Institute at UCAS fairs, school visits, and community events.
* Build strong relationships with feeder schools and colleges.
* Design and deliver creative workshops, talks, and presentations.
* Support impactful open days, audition days, and applicant events.
* Promote internal progression from Access Creative College and dBs Access to HE courses.
* Contribute to outreach and widening participation strategies.
* Monitor and report on recruitment data to inform strategic improvements.
* Lead and manage a team of Student Ambassadors in Plymouth.

What You Bring:

Essential:

* Experience in education, events, or customer-facing roles.
* Confident public speaker with excellent communication skills.
* Strong organisational and relationship-building skills.
* Proactive and comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel and work evenings/weekends as needed.
* Full, clean UK driving licence.

Desirable:

* Experience in student recruitment or higher education.
* Knowledge of the South West education landscape.
* Understanding of widening participation and outreach.
* Experience with CRM systems and digital tools.
* Interest in music, sound, or the creative industries.
