About the Role
This role you will be in liaison with Duty Managers, supporting the maintenance of safety and good order on campus. You will monitor internal truancy and escalate concerns to Head of Faculties. Making sure you are keeping the South Downs campus safe through regular safety checks and responding to incidents.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
* Maintain a consistent, visible presence across campus hotspots (social spaces, entrances, corridors) to proactively shape student behaviour.
* Act as a behaviour role model, reinforcing expectations and challenging inappropriate conduct in a calm, professional, and consistent manner.
* Support the implementation of college behaviour standards and expectations, ensuring consistency across all areas of the campus.
* Conduct regular behaviour “check-ins” with targeted students to support self-regulation and accountability.
* Respond to behavioural incidents, applying professional de-escalation techniques and ensuring safe resolution.
* Work closely with teaching staff, Student Progress, safeguarding, and pastoral teams to ensure a joined-up approach to behaviour management.
Requirements
You will need:
* English and maths to at least Level 2
* First Aid Qualification or willingness to obtain
* Experience of working with young people with challenging circumstances
* Working knowledge of external support agencies and stakeholders
* A high level of personal integrity with proven experience of handling sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy and with complete regard for confidentiality
