Pre-Construction QS Job Description: Halo Recruitment are working with a very impressive business based in the Gloucestershire area Job Overview Our client are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Pre-Construction Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join the dynamic team. Ideally, you will have a Construction, Renewable or M&E background. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the early stages of construction projects, ensuring that all financial aspects are meticulously planned and controlled. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of cost control processes, contributing to the successful delivery of projects within budget. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on project specifications and drawings. Conduct thorough market research to obtain accurate pricing for materials, labour, and other project-related costs. Collaborate with project managers and architects to develop budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and control costs throughout the pre-construction phase to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors. Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract negotiations. Maintain comprehensive records of all costs incurred during the pre-construction phase. Prepare reports on cost analysis and present findings to stakeholders. Requirements Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Renewable energy or M&E experience ideal Proven experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry is advantageous. Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
