We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant SENCO to join our supportive SEND team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about inclusive education to play a key role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), working closely with the SENDCo to ensure every student thrives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the SENDCo in fulfilling the school’s statutory SEN duties, including smooth transition arrangements for students with SEN.
2. Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions to individuals and small groups.
3. Contribute to the assess, plan, do, review cycle, including provision mapping and tracking intervention outcomes.
4. Assist teachers in planning and delivering inclusive lessons that promote student progress.
5. Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing feedback and reports to staff.
6. Promote positive behaviour and student independence in line with school policies.
7. Plan and deliver interventions to support specific areas of need and raise literacy standards across the curriculum.
8. Manage educational testing and exam access arrangements in collaboration with the Examinations Officer and SENDCo.
