Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will shape the future of content design by leading the creation of accessible, evidence‑based content strategies that make services intuitive and impactful. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, guide clients through design decisions, and ensure content consistently meets user needs while supporting wider business objectives. You will also mentor others, advocate for inclusive design, and bring clarity to complex projects.
By taking ownership of content outcomes and influencing senior stakeholders, you will help clients adopt best practice, innovate with content governance, and embed sustainable approaches that deliver real change. Supported by CGI’s collaborative culture, you’ll have the space to experiment, refine, and share your expertise with colleagues and clients alike.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape content strategy, governance, and tone of voice for diverse clients.
* Lead content planning from discovery to delivery, embedding research and testing throughout.
* Design content structures within information architecture, navigation, and interaction models.
* Create content that is clear, engaging, and accessible, meeting WCAG 2.1 standards.
* Use data, research, and information architecture to simplify complex processes.
* Partner with designers, researchers, and stakeholders to drive end‑to‑end solutions.
* Mentor junior designers and build capability within teams and across CGI’s SPARCK community.
* Promote human‑centred, inclusive design practices with clients and the wider community.
* Build consensus across differing stakeholder perspectives through co‑creation.
* Select and configure CMS and content tooling in partnership with design and tech.
* Track performance metrics, iterating based on user behaviour and feedback.
Required Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should bring extensive experience in content design and strategy, with a strong record of creating user‑focused, accessible solutions. You’ll need to demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, alongside a passion for human‑centred design and continuous learning.
Essential Capabilities
* Develop strategies that enhance user experience and meet business goals.
* Lead user research for content; integrate findings into design decisions.
* Create and test structures that support findability and usability; design accessible content aligned with WCAG 2.1.
* Shape outcomes in multidisciplinary teams; facilitate co‑design workshops.
* Use performance data and testing insights to drive iteration.
* Communicate the value of design‑led content decisions to stakeholders.
* Mentor and support junior designers.
* Proficiency with design tools such as Figma and content management systems.
Desirable Experience
* Knowledge of GDS or NHS style guidelines.
* Background in consulting or working across public and private sectors.
* Familiarity with Agile delivery methods.
* Understanding of SEO best practice.
