About the role
The Land Crops team leads small teams of people with learning disabilities to grow organic vegetables and fruit across two sites. The role requires leading the work area, planning crop rotations, maintaining land and soil health, and ensuring accurate records using the IT system. It also involves motivating and supporting staff, fostering an inclusive environment, and ensuring wellbeing and safety for the team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support small teams of people with learning disabilities in the cultivation of organic vegetable and fruit crops.
* Plan crop rotations, manage land and soil health, and oversee the overall care of the farm.
* Maintain accurate growing records and customer information in the company IT system.
* Supply and manage customer orders and contracts.
* Motivate team members and create a positive, rewarding work environment.
* Support staff in developing skills and independence, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience growing a wide range of vegetable and fruit crops, preferably in organic systems.
* Experience maintaining growing records and using IT tools (Word, Outlook, Office 365).
* Experience working inclusively with people of diverse abilities.
* Experience supporting and motivating staff or volunteers with learning needs.
* Good organisational and record‑keeping skills, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
