Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a secondary school in Lancaster. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support teaching and learning, with a focus on providing one-to-one support for students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support for students with additional needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
* Support the teacher with planning and delivery of lessons, including the preparation of classroom resources and materials
* Assist with classroom management, including behaviour management and maintaining a safe and positive learning environment
* Provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any issues that arise
* Work with other teaching assistants and support staff to ensure effective teamwork and communication
Requirements:
* Relevant experience working in a classroom environment, preferably in a secondary school setting
* A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* An ability to work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative when required
* A positive and enthusiastic approach to supporting student learning.
