Job Opportunity: Emergency Quadrant Ward Clerk
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Emergency Care Directorate's Administration Team at Ysbty Glan Clwyd.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, relatives, and visitors to the Acute Assessment Unit. The role requires demonstrating a professional and sensitive manner while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Requirements include a good standard of education, previous experience in an administrative or customer service setting, and excellent communication skills. The candidate must be able to work effectively as part of a team, be efficient, and organized in managing their workload.
You will join a friendly team responsible for a variety of reception and administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the Acute Assessment Unit. Additionally, support cover in other areas of the Emergency Quadrant may be required.
The Ward Clerk will provide efficient clerical assistance to facilitate the speedy admission, discharge, and transfer of patients. Maintaining strict confidentiality and dealing with patients and relatives courteously and discreetly are essential aspects of the role.
The Ward Clerk reports to the Ward Managers and is responsible for delivering an effective clerical service across the Emergency Quadrant. For accountability and development purposes, the role is under the direct supervision of the Administration Manager.
Previous ward clerk experience and knowledge of the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) are desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
