Enterprise Rent-A-Car has an exciting opportunity for a Building Maintenance Technician. The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of building assets. This position is responsible for basic maintenance and organization to ensure that facilities and equipment are in good condition at all times for customers and employees.

This individual will perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on buildings, equipment and grounds throughout London and the Home Counties across Southwest England and Southwest Wales. This role will utilize multiple trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, manual tasks and other skills as needed to solve maintenance problems.

The areas of coverage are rental branches within Southwest England and the outerlying Home Counties area as needed. Position can be based anywhere in southwest of England. Travel required. Company vehicle is provided.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Perform routine general maintenance and repair work such as light electrical, plumbing, painting, carpet/floor, cleaning, and snow and ice removal
2. Timely completion of work orders generated by call-in requests or preventive maintenance schedule according to the Maintenance Operative Works List (MOWL).
3. Obtains necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Seeks further guidance, if needed, to consistently resolve issues on first visit.
4. Utilizes mandatory safety equipment and Safe Systems of Work to perform tasks and ensure the safety of those around them
5. Performs minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems (. unclog toilets and drains, repair leaks in drains and faucets, replace toilets and faucet fixtures as needed,
6. Performs routine painting, carpentry work, etc., as necessary to maintain our Client’s facilities in like new condition (. repair a hole in dry-wall, prep the area, and match the paint to present a uniform and original like new appearance).
7. Performs minor electrical maintenance as allowed (. repair or replacement of fixtures, wall switches, and outlets. Replace light bulbs, ballasts and sockets if necessary).
8. Small appliance and equipment installation (pressure washers, air compressors,
9. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and provides support to Operations Team by offering guidance on works required at sites to maintain our trade dress standards
10. Move items as needed (. furniture, file cabinets, boxes, artwork, etc)
11. Delivery of office and building supplies
12. Troubleshoot general problems
13. Ability to adjust planned schedules to react to emergency requirements including out of office hours works and call outs
14. Exhibits a professional appearance and complies with all uniform requirements
15. Maintains a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
16. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Suitable candidates must be able to display the following skills and qualities:

17. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and other trades
18. Time management and organisation skills
19. Ability to work independently or in a team
20. Strong sense of initiative requiring little direct supervision
21. Self-motivated and possessing a positive attitude
22. Ability to work under pressure
23. Ability to prioritise tasks
24. Ability to follow instructions
25. Customer service skills (internal and external)

Qualifications

We would ask for the following minimum requirements:

26. Ability to multi-task and prioritise within a fast changing environment
27. UK Drivers Licence is required as this is a mobile position

Additional information:

28. Hours: 45 hours per week
29. Location: Travel required across Southwest England and Southwest Wales (company vehicle provided)
