About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our growing team, specialising in fire alarm and automatic opening vent (AOV) systems. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, one day you’ll be fault-finding on complex systems in central London, the next you could be carrying out small works or servicing across a high-profile residential site.
You’ll be the go to expert for keeping our clients’ systems running safely and reliably, with the freedom to work independently while still being supported by a friendly, knowledgeable team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Servicing and maintaining fire alarm and AOV systems across a variety of client sites
* Fault-finding and repairing systems, ensuring compliance with BS5839, BS5266, BS7671, and BS7436 standards
* Providing breakdown cover and supporting small works installations
* Working from schematics and technical drawings to deliver practical solutions
* Liaising with concierges, building managers, property managers, and internal teams (Design, Projects, Installations & Commissioning)
* Accurately completing reports, timesheets, vehicle checks, and expenses
* Participating in the out-of-hours call-out rota (currently 1 week in 8, with overtime available)
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
* Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems (FIA qualifications desirable)
* Understanding of smoke ventilation systems (training provided if required)
* Experience with inverters, dampers, and detection systems
* Background in electrical engineering with solid technical skills
* Confident working independently, including lone working
* Great communication and interpersonal skills – you’ll be representing us on site
* Computer literate with good admin/reporting ability
* Organised, self-motivated, and flexible in your approach
* Full UK Driving Licence
