Environment Agency – UK – 32429 – Join our team as a Technical Author in the UK BAT team.
Job Description
As a Technical Author you will draft Best Available Technique (BAT) conclusions, liaise with technical working groups and produce a UK‑wide environmental standard for large slaughterhouses and animal‑by‑products installations.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft BAT conclusions and prepare final documents for publication.
* Liaise with technical working groups and stakeholders.
* Present findings and support implementation of BAT standards.
* Support travel and occasional overnight stays as required.
Required Qualifications
* Minimum 5 years experience in environmental regulation or related industry.
* Deep knowledge of the slaughterhouse and animal‑by‑products industry.
* Strong understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation (IED, Permitting Regs).
* Project management skills and ability to write technical documents.
* Excellent verbal & written communication and stakeholder engagement.
Working Patterns & Location
Full‑time – flexible working patterns including job share. Based in the UK – location flexible.
