What the job looks like
* Targeted support - work 1-to-1 or in small groups so every pupil keeps pace.
* Lesson backup - prepare resources, tidy displays and make sure the right books are on the desks before the bell.
* Behaviour guidance - notice issues early, keep things calm and help students refocus quickly.
* Progress tracking - spot the "got-it" moments, jot quick notes and relay them to the class teacher.
* All-round teamwork - liaise with teachers, pastoral staff and SENCOs so each learner gets what they need.
