My client are actively seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to establish and lead their European hub. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with their engineering team in Asia to drive the direction of our technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in SaaS B2B applications, AI, and machine learning technologies, with a keen understanding of the retail software solutions landscape. Their tech stack comprises Node.js, Golang, Python, GraphSQL, Postgres, Terraform, React.JS, Angular and Typescript.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage complex engineering projects within a SaaS environment.
2. Guide cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver high-quality results within tight deadlines.
3. Cultivate a culture of innovation, mentorship, and skill development within the engineering team.
4. Make strategic decisions aligning technology with business goals, including scaling SaaS and facilitating market expansion.
5. Spearhead research and development efforts in applying foundation models to solve real-world customer problems.
6. Design, build, deliver, and maintain complex backend systems and integrations capable of handling millions of records while ensuring consistent query performance.
Qualifications:
7. 8+ years of engineering experience, with 2-3 years in a leadership role.
8. Proven expertise in SaaS B2B applications and associated business models.
9. Knowledge of AI, machine learning, including NLP and deep learning frameworks.
10. Familiarity with foundation and multi-modal models.
11. Proficiency in cloud computing and data processing technologies.
12. Preferable experience in retail software solutions.
13. Demonstrated leadership in diverse, multicultural start-up environments.
14. Strategic mindset, continuous learner, and tech-savvy.
15. Preferred experience in organizational and technical change.
