What you’ll be doing The Baseline and Change Manager is a critical role within SPT Strategic Projects, leading the development and implementation of robust baseline and change management frameworks across the Strategic Portfolio. As an integral member of the multi-disciplinary PMO team, the Baseline and Change Manager drives the end-to-end process to update and maintain project baselines, internal and contractual changes and communicating outcomes to impacted stakeholders. Maintains and implements the Baseline & Change Management processes, standards, and templates, ensuring alignment and consistency across the portfolio. Maintains the projects’ baseline up to date and drives re-baseline activities post-stage gate assessments and after approval of critical internal and contractual changes (including Compensation Events under NEC4 contracts). Holds records for baseline updates and approvals within the live Project Baseline Book to represent accurate project state for benchmark reporting Facilitates end to end change control and ensures proposed changes (e.g. internal or contractual) are escalated to the appropriate approver(s) in line with the Strategic Portfolio Delegated Level of Authority. Co-ordinates all required change supporting documentation and impact assessments with project teams. Facilitates regular Change Review Boards and communicates decisions to impacted stakeholders. Interrogates proposed changes ensuring that they are justified and clearly outline impacts on schedule, cost and scope. Assures the projects’ change registers are up to date and facilitates the flow of information for monthly and ad-hoc reporting in collaboration with the Commercial / QS team. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the Strategic Portfolio by championing Lessons Learned. What you’ll bring Experience managing project scope, cost and schedule baselines, working closely with Project Managers, Scheduling Engineers, Cost Engineers, Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors and project delivery teams. Experience in supporting the implementation of change in complex and dynamic business environments, including contractual changes. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for senior stakeholders. Ability to manage and track multiple changes across the Strategic Portfolio simultaneously, ensuring project delivery teams operate within change control frameworks and strict timeframes. Confident and skilled in constructive challenge, with the ability to influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation. Comfortable engaging capital delivery functions to co-ordinate baseline and change activities, including engineering, commercial, project managers and project controls teams. Delivery-focused and resilient, capable of managing competing priorities and adapting to continually changing demands within tight deadlines. Experience in influencing and engaging with stakeholders at various organisational levels and external parties. As a minimum, you will demonstrate: Proven experience in baseline and change management frameworks to manage complex scope, schedule and cost changes in capital project delivery, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects. Knowledge of NEC4 contracts, including Compensation Event end to end management process. Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering or Project Management) or equivalent relevant experience. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a good knowledge of industry standard digital systems (e.g. P6 Primavera, SAP, Autodesk Construction Cloud, CEMAR, etc). Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and motivate stakeholders across all organisational levels.
