Your new role
As a Principal Consultant (or Senior with a view to Principal Levle) within Environmental Permitting, you will take a lead technical andmercial role, driving high-quality outputs across multidisciplinary projects.
Main duties include…
1. Deliver technical expertise in environmental permitting across a range of projects
2. Lead and manage permit applications, risk assessments, and regulatory submissions
3. Oversee environmental projects, ensuring delivery to time, budget, and quality standards
4. Support and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and review
5. Interpret environmental monitoring data and produce clear, accurate reports
6. Liaise with clients, regulators ( Environment Agency), and other stakeholders
7. Advise clients on environmental legislation andpliance requirements
8. Manage site based activities including inspections and environmental monitoring
9. Contribute to multidisciplinary project work andplex environmental assessments
10. Support business development, proposals, and client relationship management
What you'll need to succeed
11. Proven experience in Environmental Permitting and regulatory frameworks
12. Strong knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations, PPC, and Waste Management Licensing
13. Experience within waste management and/or industrial sectors ( landfill, treatment, recovery, hazardous waste)
14. Ability to prepare and review permit applications, risk assessments, and technical reports
15. Experience interpreting environmental monitoring data
16. Strong project management skills, including delivering to time and budget
17. Experience liaising with regulators ( Environment Agency), clients, and stakeholders
18. Excellent written and verbalmunication skills
19. Ability to mentor or support junior team members (Senior/Principal level)
20. Relevant degree in an environmental or scientific discipline
21. Professional membership ( CIWM) desirable
22. Full UK driving licence
