North Somerset Council is seeking an experienced and skilled Fostering Social Worker with kinship care experience to join our Fostering Team. You will focus on assessing, supporting, and supervising kinship carers to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a child-centred, trauma-informed service that places the welfare and stability of children at the heart of decision-making. You will join a supportive and dynamic team committed to promoting best outcomes for children in family-based care.
Provide ongoing supervision and support to kinship foster carers, ensuring placements are safe and sustainable.
Work closely with children’s social workers, legal services, and the fostering panel to progress care planning and permanency arrangements.
Maintain up-to-date, high-quality case recordings and documentation.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development activities.
Sound knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and permanency planning
Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
Enhanced DBS clearance
Competitive £41 per hour rate
Hybrid working model – 3 days in the office for collaborative work, 2 days remote
