Job Description
The Behavior Technician is responsible for providing in-home or center-based services to children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder as determined by the Clinical Manager and Director’s discretion.
Behavior Technicians will provide Applied Behavior Analysis treatment (ABA), including behavior management, discrete trial training, pivotal response training, social skills, and parent education. The Behavior Technician will follow through with the appropriate services determined by the Clinical Manager. Data will be collected using an accurate and proper data collection system throughout each session. The Behavioral Technician will attend family and team meetings as directed by the Clinical Manager. Lastly, the Behavior Technician will attend to other duties as assigned or approved by the Clinical Manager or Clinical Director. Company-provided Registered Behavior Technician training and testing is available for employees after 90 days.
Qualifications and Skills
* Preference for a degree in Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, or related fields.
* Self-motivated, responsible, honest, articulate, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Professional demeanor, well-organized, detail-oriented, and excellent time management skills.
* Ability to serve culturally and linguistically diverse families in various socioeconomic areas.
* Comfortable working in homes of families with limited resources.
* Ability to interact politely with individuals and families who may be uncooperative or aloof.
* Maintain professionalism in challenging situations, including client aggression or self-injury.
* Implement behavior modification strategies and discrete trial teaching under supervision.
* Effective communication skills with clients, families, and staff.
* Creative, spontaneous, independent, and expressive in gestures, facial expressions, and voice interactions.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, sit, twist, kneel, bend, crouch, walk, and sit/play on the floor for extended periods. Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 40 pounds without assistance. Reliable transportation and current vehicle liability insurance are required.
