Energy Assessor – Built Environment & Energy Modelling Job Description – Energy Assessor Job Title: Energy Assessor Location: London, UK (Hybrid – minimum 3 days in the office per week) Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 (Depending on experience) Benefits: Growth opportunities bi-annually, Private medical insurance, pension scheme, life assurance About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Energy Assessor to lead impactful energy assessments, modelling, and energy reduction strategies across commercial and industrial buildings. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in energy management, building physics, and sustainability consultancy. You’ll work with leading UK and EU-based organisations to assess, model, and reduce energy use in line with decarbonisation goals. A deep understanding of tools such as IES VE, SAP, SBEM, and Revit is essential. You’ll be part of a collaborative team, delivering high-quality work that drives strategic sustainability outcomes in the built environment. Job Responsibilities: Deliver detailed energy and carbon modelling for buildings and infrastructure Carry out energy assessments (Scopes 1–3), using leading tools and methodologies Provide recommendations for energy reduction and decarbonisation based on modelling data Develop Carbon Reduction Plans (CRPs) and support sustainability and ESG reporting Advise on energy systems, low-carbon technologies, and lifecycle emissions Lead technical workshops with clients and support integration of sustainability into their strategies Manage delivery of multiple projects, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines and budgets Mentor junior consultants and support ongoing proposal development Professional and Personal Attributes: Essential: 5 years of experience in energy management, modelling, or sustainability consultancy Expertise in building performance modelling and energy analysis Proficient with tools: IES VE, SAP, SBEM, RDSAP, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit Strong knowledge of energy systems, building physics, and carbon reporting Familiar with ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 50001, and lifecycle assessment frameworks Strong project and stakeholder management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desirable: Qualified Non-Domestic or Domestic Energy Assessor (SBEM Level 1–4) Experience with PAS 2030 / 2035 or CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant accreditation Understanding of whole-life costing, digital twins, EN 15978 / EN 15643 Experience advising corporate sustainability teams or boards If you’re passionate about reducing energy use in the built environment and want to play a key role in driving the net zero transition—we’d love to hear from you.
