The Ndebele Students Association (NSA) is a multi-award-winning organization that represents, preserves, and promotes the cultural heritage and traditions of the Ndebele people at the university level. With active branches at 10 prominent South African universities including Wits University and University of Pretoria, NSA advocates for the inclusion of isiNdebele in university curricula. Our association provides educational and cultural programs while empowering Ndebele students through a supportive community. Recognized by Parliament and collaborating with traditional leaders and the Ndebele monarch, NSA is dedicated to cultural pride and academic excellence.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Freelance Writer, located in Douala. The Freelance Writer will be responsible for creating high-quality written content, researching topics related to Ndebele culture and traditions, and maintaining our online presence. The role involves developing content strategies, interviewing and collaborating with cultural and academic leaders, and assisting in content marketing initiatives. Additionally, the writer will participate in cultural events, document our activities, and produce engaging material for various platforms.
Qualifications
* Web Content Writing, Writing, and Creative Writing skills
* Experience in developing content strategies and conducting thorough research
* Proofreading and Editing skills
* Digital Marketing and Content Marketing skills
* Strong understanding of Ndebele culture and heritage
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively on-site
* Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Cultural Studies, or related field
* Experience in cultural advocacy or a similar role is a plus
