Overview
Technician [Signalling Maintenance] - Hereford P/Way at Network Rail. This role supports essential maintenance to keep the railway running safely and smoothly for passengers and freight users.

Responsibilities
* Work outdoors in all conditions as part of a team to support maintenance and upkeep of the rail network.
* Transport equipment and operate in challenging terrain as required while maintaining focus on safety and compliance with rules.
* Deliver work safely, check competencies within the team, and model safe working behaviours; raise potential safety concerns as needed.
* Assist or lead the team as directed by the team leader to ensure safe and efficient work delivery.
Qualifications
* Leadership: ability to lead, motivate and direct a team for safe and efficient work delivery.
* Effective communication: strong communication skills to deliver clear instructions to the team and colleagues.
* Technical skills: knowledge and experience of inspection, faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques in the applicable discipline.
* Safety: ability to implement safe systems of work and challenge unsafe situations.
* Problem solving: persistent in finding safe and effective solutions; ongoing development of relevant skills and competencies.
* Willingness to learn: commitment to developing skills and keeping up to date with standards, procedures and instructions.
* Relevant qualification: ideally NVQ Level 1 or 2 related to the discipline or equivalent experience.
Additional role information
* Shifts: includes a changing pattern with days, nights and weekends.
* Outdoor working: comfortable in different weather conditions.
* Pre-employment checks: drug/alcohol testing, medical assessment and BPSS; hearing and eyesight examination may be required.
* Driving: need a category B driving licence for Network Rail vehicles.
* Commute: within a 60-minute commute of the location.
