Senior Sales & Tendering Engineer
to lead the tendering of high- and medium-value projects across private networks, including HV, MV, and LV systems.
This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of complex bids, build strong client relationships, and directly influence the success of projects in industrial, commercial, renewable, and critical infrastructure sectors.
What You'll Be Doing
* Manage a portfolio of tenders for Private Networks, ensuring timely, accurate, and competitive submissions
* Lead the technical and commercial aspects of bids, delivering error-free returns in line with ISO 9001 standards
* Build and maintain strong client and consultant relationships, identifying new opportunities to grow the business
* Proactively manage risk during tender preparation and commercial offering
* Support handovers from sales to project delivery, ensuring seamless transition and robust documentation
* Mentor Tendering Engineers, contributing to their technical and behavioural development
* Conduct regular SHEQ tours and support departmental CPD activities
* Actively contribute to the strategic objectives of the Private Networks division
What You'll Bring
Essential- Proven experience in a fast-paced utility, construction, or engineering tendering environment
- Track record of managing resources and achieving sales targets
Experience tendering high-value projects (- NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in sales, engineering, construction, or management
- Strong knowledge of HV, MV, and LV network design development
- Understanding of control, protection, and automation schemes
- Competence in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and financial/costing software
- Experience preparing tenders under formal construction contracts
- CSCS/EUSR/ECS and First Aid at Work
Desirable:
* Incorporated Engineer (IEng, MIET) or working towards
* Experience leading sales teams in diverse engineering environments, including renewable and embedded generation
* 3+ years' experience working on projects classified as notifiable under CDM 2015
* Knowledge of Trimble (or equivalent)
* Project Management experience
* SMSTS/SSSTS
