The Role
As a Senior Welding Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will support repair and maintenance activities on the Royal Navy's fleet of warships and submarines.
Day-to-day, You'll work in collaboration with other teams to ensure the management of the highest quality welding activities.
* Ensure adherence to Babcock’s Weld Quality Management System (ISO3834-2) to maintain high-quality practices.
* Manage new welding procedures in workshops, collaborating with skilled welders and overseeing equipment.
* Author technical reports and proposals for bespoke welding techniques, leveraging materials expertise.
* Assess sub-contractor quality systems to uphold high welding standards across the site.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Welding Engineer
* Strong understanding of welding processes and techniques.
* Previous experience in Welding Engineering
Qualifications for the Senior Welding Engineer
* National Skill Framework Level 5 qualification.
* Qualifications in relevant engineering disciplines, such as foundation degrees, diplomas, HND, BEng/BSc, or MEng/MSc.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role
