Parklane Surgery is a friendly and supportive GP surgery providing high-quality care to our local community. We are currently looking for a Part-Time Medical Receptionist to join our team. This is a front-line role where you will play an important part in helping patients and supporting clinical staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Welcoming patients and visitors to the surgery in a professional and courteous manner
* Answering incoming phone calls and managing patient enquiries
* Booking and amending appointments using our clinical system (e.g., Vision/EMIS)
* Processing repeat prescription requests
* Supporting the administrative needs of doctors, nurses, and other staff
* Maintaining confidentiality and following GDPR/NHS data protection policies
* Handling incoming and outgoing post and email communications
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a receptionist or admin role (healthcare/NHS experience desirable but not essential)
* Good IT skills and confidence using clinical systems (Vision/EMIS experience a bonus)
* Strong communication and customer service skills
* Ability to multitask and work calmly under pressure
* Reliable, punctual, and a team player
* Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
Working Hours
* Part-time role: 28 hours per week
* Shifts will include mornings & afternoons between 8am & 6:30pm
* Flexibility to cover staff absences (e.g. holiday/sickness) is desirable
