Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Early years practitioner to join our team in our full day nursery offering childcare for children aged 6 months up until they leave for school. The ideal candidate will have a passion for childcare and possess strong levels of initiative and teaching skills to support the children in setting effectively. We are a new setting and a small supportive team. This role comes with the opportunities to progress as our numbers increase.
Open hours and shifts between 7:30-6pm. Minimum of 25 working hours per week however up to 50 hours are available. All year around, 51 weeks of the year closed bank holidays and for 1 week at Christmas.
Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To support the planning of activities appropriate to the age and ability of the group. Ensuring that children's development is being catered for. Meet and greet parents as they arrive. To interact with all children in your designated room and to work well as a team. Promote, create and maintain an appropriate ethos that attracts and encourages the children. Supervise, support and assist children undertaking activities, ensuring that all children have equal opportunity to develop their individual and team working skills. Safeguard the children and be aware at all times of appropriate health and safety procedures. Attend staff meetings as required. Assist with the organisation of equipment and accommodation. Set up area before children arrive and pack away at the end of the session (ensuring kitchen and other areas are cleaned and swept and mopped after each session. Mop up spillages and accidents with the use of appropriate materials and equipment. Refer any instance of unacceptable behaviour or concerns they may have about the child to the setting manager. Comfort and supervise children who are ill or have had an accident ensuring all accidents are recorded appropriately, as well as referring to the nominated First Aider. Be aware and apply all safeguarding policies and procedures at all times. Be aware of confidentiality issues linked to home, school, teacher and to keep confidences as appropriate. Participating in training activities for personal development and for the need of the service. Support SEN children with their targets and next steps.

Requirements
* Level 3 Early years qualification
* Minimum 2 years experience working with children in a childcare setting
* Proficient in English language skills both written and spoken
Desirable
* Leadership experience
* On the DBS update service
* First aid trained
* Experience using Famly

This role is needed with immediate start so we highly welcome candidates with no notice period to give, however we would also welcome candidates with a notice period.
