As a key member of the Regional Board, the Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for leading the Sales and Marketing function to deliver regional sales and profit targets effectively and efficiently, in line with the Region’s strategic objectives. The role provides strategic leadership across sales, marketing, customer experience and product positioning, acting as a key voice both in the Boardroom and externally to support Cala’s continued growth and success. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead, develop, motivate and inspire a high‑performing Sales and Marketing team with a deep understanding of the Cala customer, local markets and differentiated product Set and manage Sales and Marketing budgets for the Region and individual schemes, monitoring performance against clear objectives, targets and KPIs Evaluate market research and maintain a strong customer care culture, pre‑ and post‑sale, with close oversight of customer service performance and satisfaction ratings Communicate and implement Group marketing strategies and resources across the Region, ensuring each scheme is appropriately positioned within its local market Contribute to product definition and pricing strategies, including site selection, design, layout, unit mix and specification, informed by market insight Collaborate closely with construction teams to create a sales‑friendly on‑site environment and ensure schemes are presented effectively throughout the build process Prepare and present Board papers and Proposal to Purchase reports for senior management meetings Ensure compliance with relevant legislation (including GDPR and Consumer Protection legislation) and adherence to Company policies Promote and role‑model Cala’s culture and core values: Passion, Quality, Respect and Delivery Contribute to the wider corporate success of Cala and the sustainable growth of the Region, acting as a trusted and influential leader internally and externally About You Essential: Knowledge & Experience Highly experienced Sales and Marketing professional with strong sector knowledge and a demonstrable track record of improving sales performance Experience of coaching, developing and leading high‑performing teams, with the ability to delegate effectively without micro‑management Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills and close attention to detail Skills & Abilities Strategic, commercial and financially articulate, with the ability to develop and execute dynamic strategies and meet challenging business targets Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including confident presentation and influencing ability Strong leadership and management capabilities, able to motivate and inspire teams Ability to translate strategy into practical operational programmes Skilled at building and maintaining effective relationships at all levels, working with a diverse range of stakeholders Able to influence and contribute to key functional and regional decisions Effective planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities Strong customer service orientation High level of emotional intelligence Personal Attributes Integrity, honesty and professionalism, with respect for confidentiality and sensitive information Self‑motivated, proactive and able to act on own initiative within agreed parameters Adaptable and resilient, coping well under pressure while remaining positive Commercially focused with a can‑do attitude and willingness to learn and develop Personable and approachable, portraying a positive image of self and Cala at all times Desirable: Knowledge & Experience Experience of succeeding during a period of substantial business growth Knowledge of the local region Skills & Attributes Innovative approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement Strong technical knowledge relevant to the role We recognise that a diverse team makes us a stronger and more successful company.
