Role description:

* Provide professional leadership in Solar PV Energy projects, especially large grid-scale and connected installations, at a senior management level. Establish and strengthen client relationships, own the delivery of regional technical capabilities, and support project delivery or specialized components.
* Support the development of Arcadis’ capabilities in Onshore Renewable Energy and build a strong professional reputation.
* Lead project teams, providing direction and exemplifying best practices.
* Manage project delivery to meet time, quality, budget, and safety targets.
* Manage client relationships to ensure delivery exceeds expectations and maximize client satisfaction.
* Promote a culture of regional and global excellence.
* Provide temporary embedded support to key clients as needed.


Role accountabilities:

* Lead by example to improve SHE performance.
* Build and maintain client relationships, identify business opportunities, and meet commercial objectives.
* Engage with and promote the involvement of Arcadis Global Design resources, facilitating feedback on project performance.
* Provide technical leadership and evaluate staff competence, identifying training needs.
* Manage the development and performance of team members, supporting recruitment and selection.
* Lead the technical delivery of complex projects, ensuring client satisfaction and effective communication.
* Ensure local staff understand the benefits of resource utilization.
* Design innovative engineering solutions to resolve complex problems.
* Coach and mentor engineering professionals for talent development.
* Oversee project completion to time, quality, and budget standards, aiming to exceed client expectations.
* Perform independent technical reviews for major projects.
* Encourage innovative thinking among team members.
* Market the company's services and manage technical client relationships, including sales efforts.
* Contribute to bid management and technical aspects of proposals.
* Stay updated on industry, technical, and legislative developments; seek opportunities for professional growth.
* Maintain records of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for audit purposes.


Qualifications & Experience:

* Proven experience in delivering grid-scale Solar PV projects.
* Knowledge of GB transmission and distribution systems and challenges.
* Experience supporting clients with grid access and applications.
* Experience in onshore renewable energy projects and grid connections.
* Understanding of integrating Solar PV into the national grid and knowledge of plant and equipment.
* Understanding of substation design for MV and HV substations in the UK.
* Recognize personal and team skill limits, exercise sound judgment, and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
* Engage in CPD activities, participate in professional institutions, and demonstrate high professional standards.
* Effective communication skills, including English proficiency, and ability to lead and manage diverse teams.
* Knowledge of legislation, hazards, safe systems of work, and health and safety management.
* Leadership experience in managing teams, quality processes, and resources.
* Strong consulting skills, project management, and client relationship management at senior levels.
* Sound understanding of technology application, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
* Extensive experience in consulting on large, complex projects and engineering design and development.
* Knowledge of market-backed pricing, statutory and commercial frameworks, and sustainable development practices.
1. Educational requirements include a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in a relevant discipline, with Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent.
