At Vets Now, we are the pioneers of excellence in European Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Our commitment to fostering the future of veterinary excellence is reflected in every role within our state‑of‑the‑art hospitals. We take immense pride in our well‑established Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Residency Program, available at our hospital in Glasgow.
About Vets Now Referrals Glasgow
Vets Now Referrals Glasgow is one of only five veterinary facilities in the UK authorized by the European College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care (ECVECC) to offer an approved ECC residency program. Our Residency program started in 2017; since then, there has been a 75% first‑time pass success on the specialisation board examination, with all candidates becoming specialists and working in the field clinically.
Join our dynamic multidisciplinary hospital, where you will collaborate with specialists, referral clinicians, and fellow discipline‑specific interns and residents in Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Oncology, Anaesthesia and Analgesia, and Diagnostic Imaging. You will also work closely with our dedicated emergency Out‑Of‑Hours (OOH) service.
The hospital benefits from state‑of‑the‑art facilities including a Siemens Somatom Go All 32/64 slice CT, Draeger anaesthesia ventilator machines, portable ultrasound probes, a CellSaver® machine and a Draeger ICU dedicated ventilator. These, alongside a high caseload and a culture of inter‑departmental collaboration, provide an unparalleled learning environment.
Our program also provides a structured teaching plan and opportunities to visit other facilities and contribute to ground‑breaking clinical research, supported by the research funding from IVCE.
