The Role:
We are looking for a skilled ICT Business Analyst to join the ‘Business Development Team’, part of the service’s ‘ICT Department’.
As an ICT Business Analyst, you will play an instrumental role in the delivery of new projects and implementations, as well as supporting colleagues to optimise existing ICT systems and processes.
You will need strong communication and influencing skills, possess the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and be able to demonstrate that your interpersonal skills are as effective as your technical knowledge.
An effective and willing team player who contributes to team, department and service objectives, you will also be able to demonstrate that you can work on under your own initiative, problem solve, deliver excellent customer service, work across multiple projects, and confidently work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
As an ICT Business Analyst, your work will include:
* Working with stakeholders to understand business needs, objectives, issues, and future operating procedures.
* Translating user needs into functional and technical requirements, ensuring clarity and compliance with data protection, security, and internal policies.
* Assessing feasibility of new and enhanced solutions, conducting gap analysis between existing and desired functionality.
* Capturing, analysing, and documenting business functions, processes, and requirements.
* Prioritising development activity in line with agreed methods, the Safety Plan, and Digital Strategy.
* Acting as a liaison between ICT and customers, promoting new technology and supporting effective communication.
* Tracking and document changes to business and functional specifications.
* Supporting non‑project developments by identifying risks, managing costs, and contributing to resource planning.
* Participating in user acceptance testing and validation of new or updated system functionality.
* Producing or sourcing training materials and documenting system processes to support implementation.
* Authorising and editing professional documents, demonstrating a strong attention to detail and effective use of ICT and tools such as MS Office apps.
* Identifying opportunities to improve business processes and supporting proposal development for new solutions.
* Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and presenting opportunities that could benefit the organisation.
* Managing data sourcing and contributing to maintenance of data models across systems.
* Conducting post‑implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and measure benefits delivered.
* Contributing to the continual development of the BA function within the Business Development Team.
* Demonstrating effective organisational skills, working on multiple projects simultaneously and at different stages of the lifecycle.
* Participating in team, departmental and service directed activates including meetings, training, and personal development.
