Our Engineering team is made up of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well maintained and ready to get our customers to their chosen destinations.
As an Aircraft Technician – Workshops, you will be responsible for accomplishing delegated maintenance tasks on Virgin Atlantic (VAA) Engines to the required airworthiness standards, ensuring the continued safe operation of the aircraft by achieving, and striving to exceed, the standards of airworthiness set by Corporate and Airworthiness Authority policy, procedures, and requirements.
Day to day
* Carry out hands‑on maintenance of aircraft engine and related systems and components.
* Adhere to manufacturers approved maintenance procedures and the instruction of the designated supervising Engineer.
* Accountable for working on delegated tasks without supervision using own initiative.
* Apply sound engineering practices and fully communicate actions.
* Participate in appraisals.
* Drive effective control of costs.
* Optimise revenue and manage cost.
* Drive compliance with Engineering safety.
About you
* Have an EASA/CAA Licence with associated certifying responsibilities, holding company approvals on fleet aircraft types in respect of EASA/CAA Licence categories.
* Have successfully completed a recognised aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent, with relevant experience and a sound aircraft engineering background, demonstrating clear hand‑skills and thinking. Engine experience preferred.
* Have demonstrable adaptability to change in working practices and environment, with excellent communication skills.
* Have experience and technical knowledge of the Virgin fleet sufficient to determine the airworthiness of any component or system guidance. Knowledge of current health and safety procedures is a must.
