Role Overview:
Lancaster Group Holdings are seeking to employ a .NET developer to join the in-house Systems department on an interim basis. This role should assist the Head of Systems in the development and maintenance of internal systems, applicants should have a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent discipline, along with proven experience of professional software development on large and complex projects. The working environment is fast-paced and as such candidates should have the ability to work in a collaborative manner, adhering to best practices and problem solving where necessary. This role requires participation in all aspects of the development life cycle, including the gathering of requirements, analysis, prototyping, UI design, detailed systems, technical design, development, unit testing and integration testing. Suitable candidates will have an analytical and technical understanding of the software development life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Develop and maintain in-house applications, ensuring robust functionality and seamless user experiences.
• Design, build, and implement RESTful APIs for internal and external use.
• Create and maintain responsive and visually appealing websites using modern frameworks and .NET technologies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and optimization of existing applications.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability through best practices, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into projects where appropriate.
• Document code, processes, and technical specifications to facilitate future maintenance and upgrades. You may also be required to perform additional tasks as needed to meet business objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Proven experience as a .NET Developer, Programmer, or similar role.
* Strong knowledge of .NET Framework and/or .NET Core.
* Proficiency in, C#, ASP.NET, and MVC architecture.
* Experience with front-end development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular.
* Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
* Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
* Experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
* Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines.
* Familiarity with Blazor for building modern web applications.
* Experience with version control systems like Git.
* Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
