Robert Half are looking to recruit a number of experienced interim Accountants to support a critical General Ledger (GL) clean-up initiative across multiple entities. This high-impact project involves deep-dive forensic accounting work to identify, analyse, and resolve open item issues, in preparation for year-end closure. Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in office-Bristol) Duration: Until end of October (Start ideally next week/week after) Interview: Immediate priority Start Date: ASAP Rate: Competitive Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with head of department, to identify and resolve 10-20 ongoing accounting issues per team (e.g., payroll, VAT, revenue, accruals). Conduct hands-on investigation and reconciliation - get into the details to fix issues, not just identify them. Support project management efforts alongside Finance Reps and controllers, ensuring alignment through all project phases. Create and execute a project map to guide cleanup and cleansing of balance sheets Drive topic-based issue resolution by country. Maintain close collaboration with finance partner on account-level fixes while managing operational urgency. Candidate Profile: Strong technical accounting background Proven track record of resolving issues, not just recommending fixes - hands-on problem solving is essential. Must work with speed, accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency. Experienced in forensic-style accounting, balance sheet clean-up, and audit readiness.
