About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused System/ IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. While much of the role will be hybrid/remote, you may be required to travel to client sites across London when necessary.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide technical support via phone, email, and remote tools.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software and network issues.
* Manage and resolve support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
* Install, configure, and maintain IT systems and applications.
* Support Microsoft 365 and other cloud-based solutions.
* Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtual environments.
* Configure and maintain Windows Server 2022 environments, including roles, features, and security.
* Deliver on-site support for users and clients when required.
* Collaborate with internal teams and escalate complex issues when necessary.
* Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and change logs.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Hands-on experience with VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
* Strong understanding of virtual environments and related infrastructure.
* Proficient in Windows Server 2022 administration, including:
* Active Directory (user/group management)
* AD DS, DNS, DHCP
* File/print services
* Backup/restore tasks
* Failover cluster monitoring and troubleshooting
* Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
* Basic Cisco switch/router administration (console/SSH, show commands).
* Knowledge of VLANs, trunk/access ports, and routing fundamentals.
* Basic firewall administration (monitoring rules, troubleshooting connectivity, escalating advanced issues).
* Hardware and infrastructure support (patch cables, fibre connections, hardware replacements).
* Ability to provide on-site support and maintenance as needed.
Mandatory Qualifications:
* CCNA
* CompTIA A
* ITIL Foundation
Desirable Qualifications:
* CNP (Cisco Network Professional / CCNP)
* MSCP / Microsoft Certified: Windows Server
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
