FINANCIAL CONTROLLER - GLOBAL ACCOUNTING TEAM £ DOE PLUS BONUS SCHEME NEWLY QUALIFIED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONSIDERED 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK - FLEXIBLE WHEN NECESSARY HULL BASED PLUS INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SPECIFIC WORK TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Accounting Operations Management: Oversee various accounting functions, including: ▪ Accounts Receivable (A/R) ▪ Accounts Payable (A/P) ▪ General Ledger (GL) ▪ Cost Accounting / Controlling ▪ Inventory Accounting ▪ Revenue Recognition 2. Budgeting and Forecasting: ▪ Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. ▪ Analyse and report variances to ensure alignment with financial goals. 3. Monthly Financial Statements: ▪ Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements. ▪ These statements provide insights into the company's financial health and performance. 4. Regulatory Reporting: ▪ Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. ▪ Coordinate the preparation of necessary reports. 5. Technical Accounting Research: ▪ Investigate and address complex accounting issues to ensure compliance. ▪ Stay informed about changes in accounting standards. 6. Quality Control and Internal Controls: ▪ Maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting. ▪ Strengthen internal controls through documented policies and procedures. 7. Tax Filings and Government Reporting: ▪ Manage compliance with local, state and federal government reporting requirements. ▪ Handle tax filings. 8. Financial Risk Management: ▪ Assess and manage financial risks. ▪ Implement risk mitigation strategies. 9. Additional Duties: ▪ International Branch Tax Returns. ▪ International Transfer Pricing Policies. ▪ Special Ad-hoc Projects. ▪ Year End financial accounts and audit assistance. REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE Fully qualified financial controller; Expert in excel; Good problem-solving skills; Effective communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships with key stakeholders, team colleagues and other members of staff including external parties; Ability to work independently or as part of a team; Knowledge of tax legislation and accounting standards in different jurisdictions. Flexible to work outside normal business hours at times and carry out additional tasks if required; Possibility of some travel to other destinations and sites across the world; Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure, if needed; Excellent attention to detail; GREATEST CHALLENGES / ATTRACTIONS OF THE JOB The role on offer is a varied role. PRACTICAL CONDITIONS REGARDING THE JOB Workplace: Office in Hull Travel activity: Travel to other sites both nationally and internationally, if required. Start date: ASAP Salary: to be negotiated, depending on training, experience and skills. Bonus: Discretionary annual bonus paid twice yearly - currently November and May. Holidays: 25 days per annum plus bank holidays Life Assurance: Day 1 benefit. Health Insurance: After 3 months and on the next entry point of either April or October. Salary Date: On or before 25th of each month. Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week - flexible hours when necessary to fulfil the role.
