Location: Crawley
Salary: £28,000 to 32,000 per annum DOE

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Flexibility – Hybrid
Start date: ASAP

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a proactive, organised and people‑focused People Coordinator to support our People function in a friendly, fast‑paced SME environment.

This role is a blend of front‑line People advisory support and high‑quality People administration. You'll be a trusted first point of contact for employees and managers, providing confident, practical guidance on everyday People matters while ensuring our People processes and records run smoothly behind the scenes.

It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being visible, helpful and trusted, and who wants to continue developing their People advisory skills alongside their administrative strengths.

What you'll be doing

Acting as a first point of contact for People queries from employees and managers, providing clear, helpful guidance on everyday People matters and escalating more complex issues to People Team Generalists as needed

Providing front‑line advisory support on topics such as policies, processes, absence, probation, contracts, and people procedures

Maintaining accurate and compliant employee records, ensuring systems, documents, and data are kept up to date

Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including Onboarding and inductions, Contract preparation and variations, Employee changes, Offboarding and leavers.

Supporting managers with basic policy interpretation and process guidance, helping them navigate People processes with confidence

Assisting with People projects and initiatives, such as policy updates, audits, engagement activity, or process improvements

Supporting managers with note‑taking in meetings on occasion

Actively contributing to continuous improvement, identifying smarter, more efficient ways of working across People processes

What We're Looking For:

Essential

Experienced, Organised and Detail‑Focused- You stay on top of tasks, maintain accurate records, and ensure nothing is missed.

Confident, Friendly and Approachable- You build positive relationships quickly and create a supportive experience for employees and managers.

Comfortable with Front‑Line Advisory Work- You're confident handling first‑line People queries and know when to resolve independently and when to escalate.

Adaptable in a Fast‑Paced Environment- You stay calm under pressure, respond well to change, and enjoy the variety that comes with SME life.

Proactive and Self‑Motivated- You don't wait to be asked — you spot gaps, anticipate needs, and help improve how things are done.

Strong Communicator-You communicate clearly, professionally, and confidently in both written and verbal form.

Discreet and Trustworthy-You handle sensitive information with care, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Tech‑Confident-You're comfortable using HR systems and digital tools, and quick to learn new ones.

Eager to Learn-You're keen to continue building your People advisory skills and grow your career over time.

Desirable

Ability to speak Spanish or Portuguese is advantageous.
