Band 7 Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Overview
The post holder will provide specialist psychoanalytic child psychotherapy assessment and treatment to children, young people and their families and carers across clinical pathways within CAMHS, following guidelines set out by the Association for Child Psychotherapy and adhering to Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Provide initial CAMHS assessments and offer consultation and supervision to colleagues both within and external to the organisation.
* Deliver specialist psychoanalytic child psychotherapy assessment and treatment for children, young people and families.
* Support and supervise multidisciplinary teams within CAMHS clinical pathways and provide supervision and consultation to related staff and agencies in health, education, social services and voluntary sectors.
* Undertake clinical audit, research and evaluation, contributing to the development of child psychotherapy within the organisation.
* Collect and analyse data regarding referrals and outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment offered.
* Work as an autonomous clinician within ACP guidelines and the overall framework of CAMHS and trust policies and procedures.
* Participate in clinical pathways and MDT forums to inform clinical decision making within a psychotherapeutic framework.
Qualifications
* Qualified psychotherapist with current registration with the ACP professional body.
* Hold a caseload of young people with complex mental health needs and provide assessments and therapeutic programme management.
* Experience in psychoanalytic child psychotherapy (desired).
