Sybase Developer - Contract

We are seeking an experienced Sybase Developer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Sybase databases. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure the efficient operation of our database systems and contribute to ongoing improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
* Database Design and Development
Design and develop Sybase database solutions to meet business requirements.
Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
Optimize database performance through careful design and tuning.
* Maintenance and Support
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing Sybase databases.
Perform upgrades and patches to ensure database integrity and security.
* Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with application developers, data analysts, and IT staff to integrate database solutions.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on project progress.
Document database designs, configurations, and protocols for future reference.
* Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to optimize database operations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Sybase technology and incorporate relevant advancements.
Qualifications
* Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sybase database development and administration.
Proven experience with SQL, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
* Technical Skills
Proficiency in Sybase ASE
Strong understanding of database design principles and best practices.
* Soft Skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
