Mencap is seeking passionate Male Support Workers to join our incredible team in Bedlington.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
There are two part time positions available (both 17hrs per week). The service is male only and anyone applying for the position must be a car driver.
The person we support is a gentleman in his 50's who lives in his own bungalow in Bedlington. During the day he attends a work placement from 9am until 3.30pm, we support him after this from 3.30pm. He is very able and completes most tasks with a verbal prompt, this includes tasks around his household, medication and personal care.
The shift pattern includes a sleep in and would finish at 9am the following morning.
Further information regarding the person we support will be discussed during interview.

· Part-time: 17hrs
Shift times :
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!
· Sleep In: 11pm - 8am
There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £63.All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
