Overview

Would you like the opportunity to help the travelling public of Greater Manchester? Are you seeking an active role with the opportunity to make a real difference to Transport Infrastructure?

Your Role

As an Information Display Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining our bus stop shelter and facilities across Greater Manchester. You’ll look after the installation, preparation and upkeep of printed timetable information at bus stops as well as displaying advertising materials, event information and disruption information at designated sites across Greater Manchester.

As an Information Displays Assistant, you will work 37 hours per week. You will have a flexible working pattern working shifts Monday to Friday on a rolling rota pattern with a 12.5% shift allowance. Your shifts will rotate each week: one week 7:00–15:36 and the following week 10:24–19:00. This will include one short day each week where your shift will be 5 hours. Who are we?

The information displays team are a team of 6 who are each allocated a specific work area on the Greater Manchester transport network. Together we look after 12,000+ bus stops across Greater Manchester, installing hardware and ensuring passenger information is kept up to date. The team plays a vital role in supporting the growth, reliability and passenger perception of the Bee Network.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about working outdoors in changing weather conditions, are able to assist the public in a positive manner and have a good attention to detail. You’ll be able to drive with a full valid EU driving license (category B) and have a good knowledge of residential and city centre areas within Greater Manchester. You’ll have the ability to climb a ladder and get in and out of a van multiple times per day safely on a highway. In this role you'll also need to use your initiative to plan and manage your own workloads to deadlines as well as having a knowledge of COSHH.


What We Can Offer You

This is a fixed-term role for a period of 24 months with a salary of £28,069 - £29,881 per annum depending on experience. You will receive a shift allowance of 12.5%; this means that as you work on a rota basis, we add an extra 12.5% onto your total pay for the month.
