At Serco, we’re seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance and ground support for Wildcat aircraft. In this role, you’ll apply a strong knowledge of AESAS (Aircraft Engineering Support and Airfield Services) regulatory governance to ensure operational airworthiness in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. We’re proud to support the Fleet Air Arm and the Wildcat Maritime Force at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton — one of the Royal Navy’s two principal air stations and among the busiest military airfields in the UK, home to over 100 aircraft. Our services range from aircraft repair and maintenance to fuel delivery and comprehensive off-aircraft support, all essential to keeping the fleet mission-ready. What you’ll do: Support in maintaining Wildcat aircraft and components in line with published procedures. Coordinate and supervise daily team workload, allocating tasks as directed, and ensuring the team remains efficient, timely and compliant with company and customer policies and regulations, and with quality standards. Hold authorisation for second signature approval within your trade group. Conduct independent inspections in line with MAM(P) (Manual of Airworthiness Maintenance – Processes) when authorised. Identify opportunities to expand the customer base with innovative solutions supporting their goals. Escalate business risks, customer complaints, and quality issues promptly. Promote best practices and regulatory compliance using DASOR, Assure, and other reporting tools. Monitor hazards, ensuring risks and issues are identified and managed. Support a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring all personnel under your remit comply with health and safety regulation, the Serco Management System, applicable customer regulations, environmental procedures and equal opportunities policy. Ensure you and your team maintain up-to-date knowledge and competence, through training and development courses Mentor Fitters, Fitters’ Mates, and apprentices as part of your leadership role. Inform line managers of training needs, including regulatory updates, human factors, inductions, promotions, and equipment qualifications. What you’ll need: Service Certificate of Competency (CoC) or completion of Serco Supervisory Management and Aircraft Documentation Course and CoC Board. Proven supervisory experience with strong knowledge of: Wildcat aircraft engineering, systems, servicing, and support equipment Project planning and Lean Operating Procedures. Naval Air Publications and Compound Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (CIETP). Health and safety regulations including COSHH, tool control, and quality assurance. Engineering and Asset Management Systems. Completed or willing to complete Maintenance Human Factors training. Thorough understanding of rotary-wing military aviation procedures. Proven knowledge of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance per regulatory and legislative requirements (MAA). Strong leadership and people management skills. Ability to work productively and efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines, maintaining operational performance.
