Qualifications include medium/heavy-duty truck technical training, a high school diploma or GED, 2 years of school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years of fleet maintenance and repair experience, a valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications such as Annual Inspector Certification, Brake Inspector Certification, ASE certifications (preferred), and 609 HVAC Certification. Skills required include diagnostic software proficiency, vehicle systems knowledge, electrical diagnosis, preventive maintenance, basic welding, and knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
Physical demands include operating equipment, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, lifting, grasping tools, and performing repetitive motions. The work environment may include exposure to various weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, non-traditional hours, occasional travel, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor settings.
