Location: Dower Court & Regent House, Paignton.
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Manager, specialising in the needs of older people, to provide a support and housing service. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two sheltered housing schemes in Paignton, delivering a high‑quality service to customers in accordance with the policies and practices of Westward Housing. You will work full time at the schemes on a fixed‑term contract until October 2026.
Dower Court: a 28‑bedroom freehold scheme which includes flats and bungalows. The scheme has parking for residents and staff, a shared garden space and is located a 5‑minute drive from Paignton Beach and 2 miles from the town centre.
Regent House: a 19‑bedroom leasehold scheme situated in the town of Paignton.
Duties
* Assisting residents to maintain their well‑being and independence
* Consulting with residents on all issues affecting them and their home and liaising with relevant agencies
* Carrying out a morning call service if required
* Accounting for income and expenditure on the schemes
* Undertaking regular alarm equipment checks
* Carrying out regular health and safety assessments, reporting and following up
* Participating in resident/scheme meetings and integrating new residents into the scheme
* Encouraging, supporting and coordinating social activities for the residents
Qualifications
* Knowledge and experience of working with older people
* Good communication skills
* Passionate and committed to delivering an excellent service with a “right first time” ethic
* Effective use of computerised housing systems
* Understanding of confidentiality and demonstrable ability to work with confidential information
* Ability to use initiative and work independently
