Salary: Level 1/Newly Qualified Social Worker (ASYE) – £37,642 (includes market premium of £3,283). Entry level Grade 9 (£32,070) until full registration, increases to top Grade 9 (£34,359) upon registration (Pay award pending).
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role
As a Newly Qualified Social Worker on the ASYE Programme you will support children and families across the County. You will work as part of the social work teams, receive protected caseloads, and gain early professional experience under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide support to children and families within the service, delivering case management and safeguarding services.
* Maintain protected and reduced caseloads during the ASYE year.
* Participate in regular supervision with your manager and an ASYE mentor, and attend network meetings with other ASYEs.
* Collaborate with colleagues across teams and agencies, sharing knowledge and best practice.
* Complete accurate, age‑appropriate documentation and reports using the relevant database systems.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hold a Social Work degree or equivalent (CQSW, DipSW) specialising in children’s services, completed within the last two years or expected to qualify within the next year. Registered with Social Work England or expected to register upon qualification.
* Full, valid UK driving licence (or able to convert) and access to a vehicle.
* Experience working with children and families, understanding of childcare legislation and Child Safeguarding procedures.
* Awareness of cultural, racial, linguistic and religious diversity and application of inclusive practice.
* Strong assessment skills, able to analyse information, make sound decisions and demonstrate with examples.
* Excellent prioritisation and time‑management skills, able to manage competing and changing demands.
* Proficient in IT, with knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and database applications, and able to communicate clearly in writing and orally.

* Enhanced with barred list DBS check is required.
